Library Assistants are responsible for carrying out the following essential tasks: The Board hears requests from landowners for variances when building or other land use projects are not permitted by current ordinances.Broad Scope of Duties: Library Assistants are part-time employees that are responsible for day-to-day librarianship, facilitating the circulation of library materials, and providing customer service. The Zoning Board balances the demands of the master plan and land use ordinances with the needs of property owners. The Mayor is chosen by the other Township Committee members at the annual Reorganization Meeting held immediately after the New Year. This group oversees township sports leagues for our children, and manages special events such as Community Day, the annual Easter Egg Hunt and Christmas at the Center.įive elected members serve staggered terms to ensure there are always experienced members. The Planning Board creates/updates the Franklin Township Master Plan, creates & reviews land use ordinances and subdivision plans, and creates the official township map. This vital organization reaches out to the community to address the growing problem with alcoholism and addiction through identification, education and prevention.
Historical Advisory Committee members curate Franklin's rich history and manage our Historical Center.īoard members review policies, approve the annual budget, host book sales and the annual school supply drive, and more. This commission keeps government and residents informed about a variety of environmental issues and concerns. This commission is responsible for putting meetings on Comcast’s Channel 9, and for keeping people informed about important issues within the township.
